About Pastor Gary

Pastors Gary and Kim Carter are the founders and senior pastors of a network of Christian churches and ministries known as Life Church International. A network committed to leadership development, team building, church planting, church growth and effective community engagement.

Gary was born and raised on a farm in southern Manitoba. His work life began in construction where his natural desire to lead began to shape his future. His love for working with people drew him into retail and commercial sales until he owned his own electronic retail outlet. He later entered into the mining industry where he enjoyed a leadership role for sixteen years. During his mining years the Lord was preparing his heart to respond to the call to plant and pastor local churches. During the
season of the first church plant Gary successfully ran for public office which has given him insight into the governing and management of a city. During that time he was liaison to the chamber of commerce, part of the economic development board and sat on the inter-municipal planning commission. These combined experiences have given him a broad understanding of the challenges that face our city leaders. Gary has a doctorate of practical ministry from Wagner Leadership Institute.
His first book called The Power to Effect Change! has opened doors to many nations as a conference speaker and trainer through workshops and seminars. His second book called The Small Town Mega Church continues to be a great resource for local church pastors and leaders.
Gary and Kim have been married thirty five years; have three children and six grandchildren. They currently reside in Barry, Carnoustie, Scotland.
